about
Imagine one part funky motifs of The New Mastersounds paired with one part unison breakdowns of Parliament-Funkadelic and the end result is a tasty cocktail called “Sophistakiddin’” by the Sophistakits.
Spawned from the friendship of guitar masters Eddie Roberts (The New Mastersounds) and Eric McFadden (Parliament-Funkadelic), Sophistakits was born at Color Red studios in the summer of 2018. Calling upon their musical comrades Miles Tackett (Breakestra), Wally Ingram (Sheryl Crow), and Chris Spies (Matador! Soul Sounds), this 2-day session produced a handful of high-octane, guitar-laden funk music that’s epitomized by catchy riffs and fortified by unsurpassable guitar virtuosity.
